The Downtown Art Walk has undergone a sudden leadership change. What exactly went down remains unclear, but for fans of the closest thing LA has to Mardi Gras, the immediate impact will be the ouster of some popular tour guides, including indie horror film maker and Downtown habitue Jeremy Kasten. The colorful but uninspired Crimebo the Clown -he offers insights like “that building there? Crime happened there” but then again, what was I thinking? Ever meet an informative clown?- also got the 86 from November’s fest. But despite being cut from the official program the slasher director- whose “Wizard of Gore” starring Crispin Glover was shot entirely on location Downtown- tells Legman he isn’t calling it quits. “I’m going to continue with my tour of downtown with many a delight and surprise.”
