Life and Nightlife

Michael Musto’s queer club critique we’ve been reading since high school and his recap of the decade in today’s Village VOICE is comprehensive. We’re only surprised to see him so generous to Rudy, likening America’s mayor to a blood sucking vampire, a big dis to Dracula. “In the zombieland of New York, Mayor Giuliani projected a stoicism that helped guide us out of 9/11, but by then, he’d already drained a lot of the life (and nightlife) out of the city by making it a glossy theme park aimed mainly at outsiders and condo owners.” We also question his praise for burlesque, a phenomenon we just don’t get. Now the quit-putting-shit-off resolution hasn’t been made so the Legman’s recap will drop, as the wits say, next year.
