Booze, Hookers, Bad Men: Back in The New York Groove

Legging it down to Chelsea we found ourselves once again in our element at a fund raiser for New York gubernatorial candidate Kristin Davis. Fresh off a four month bid in Riker’s for running an escort service Davis, who took down former gov Eliot Spitzer, would legalize pot and prostitution and went about raising her campaign cash auctioning of “dates” (host Frank Morano actually did the air quotes thing announcing this) with Penthouse babes at down at the heels club Taj, we’re guessing on the site once occupied by Danceteria on W. 21st Street. And the Legman reveled in the spectacle. “This state is a basket case, the people of New York can’t be taxed anymore. Kristen is our only choice” storied Republican hatchet man Roger Stone told us in all sincerity. Sporting a sweet pimp suit that would make Iceberg Slim proud Stone, who sports a tattoo of Richard Nixon on his back, is the voice behind this colorful threat to Eliot Spitzer’s dad, and is all around our kind of guy. But his true motivation is anyone’s guess. Likening her third party candidacy to quixotic quests for office thrown down by Norman Mailer and William Buckley, Stone says hers is “a symbolic candidacy about the issues” the goal being a permanent ballot position for the Libertarian party, theirs with 50,000 votes.

Free booze, loads of babes? We got it covered. But why ain’t this one hack smiling?
