NYC Abandoned, LA Moves In
We have commited to posting original content almost exclusively, but this brilliant piece fits so neatly into the narrative parameters of Legman, we had to link it. And who are we kidding? the story we wish we had scribbled boasts a pic of Rudy in his warm up jackeon a late night train which made our day.
With his history rewriting diatribe this morning it appears the Teabagger’s need look no further; they have found their Julius Streicher in America’s Mayor. “We had no domestic attacks under Bush” asserted Rudy on national tv, trying to baffle us with the biggest lie imaginable. But you can’t play all the people; we will forever remember you running like a rat on crack from your burning bunker in the sky.

Life and Nightlife

Michael Musto’s queer club critique we’ve been reading since high school and his recap of the decade in today’s Village VOICE is comprehensive. We’re only surprised to see him so generous to Rudy, likening America’s mayor to a blood sucking vampire, a big dis to Dracula. “In the zombieland of New York, Mayor Giuliani projected a stoicism that helped guide us out of 9/11, but by then, he’d already drained a lot of the life (and nightlife) out of the city by making it a glossy theme park aimed mainly at outsiders and condo owners.” We also question his praise for burlesque, a phenomenon we just don’t get. Now the quit-putting-shit-off resolution hasn’t been made so the Legman’s recap will drop, as the wits say, next year.
